Fall 2019
Project Size
283,000+ SF
Elements of Construction

Over 283,000 square-feet of construction starts with demolishing a classroom wing and building in its place a three-story classroom wing, remodeling of the existing core space, security improvements and revisions to parking and traffic flow. A new commons area for students to use during the day and for visitors to use during events will be added. At the center of the redesign is a large commons area where many of the hallways intersect.
The commons is intended to be used for student assembly, presentations, large gatherings of students, study groups, socializing and other activities. The aging building needs renovations to repair drafts and update the heating and electrical systems. New “flex rooms” will provide space for students to work in groups. Technology will be available for projects, including large screens for students to plug personal devices into. The rooms will be muffled to avoid interruptions from outside, but large glass windows will make it easy for staff to monitor.
