Project Overview
In 2021 W Gohman Construction was hired by the City of Buffalo to build their new Fire Station and training center. The new 28,000 SF fire station – is located on a 2.7-acre site.

The new facility features a dispatch center, four private bedrooms set up to accommodate three shifts; five double-long bays for ten apparatuses, a full kitchen, recreational area, dining room, day room, and fitness center; a storage mezzanine floor; bunker gear, a self-contained breathing apparatus, and mechanical workshop; as well as a state-of-the-art decontamination space featuring steam showers, an emerging trend in the industry. 3,500 SF of offices, training space, and conference rooms are built throughout the facility. A 4,000 SF basement was incorporated into the building for storage and additional training space.

Project Overview
New Construction and renovation of 150,000 SF that includes new offices, vehicle storage and vehicle maintenance areas. The construction at the offices consist of steel beams and bar joist superstructure with masonry bearing walls. Roofing is a combination of TPO and EPDM systems. Exterior facade consist of light gage metal framing with a combination of face brick and Dri-Design metal wall panels along with curtain wall framing and insulated glass.

The construction is comprised of three distinctive areas:

1,000 SF office area which includes rest rooms, locker room facilities, kitchen and break room, meeting rooms, large multi-purpose room.
A 110,000 SF Vehicle Storage Area for indoor vehicle parking and equipment. There are also areas workshops for the water, sewer, streets, and park departments.
A 22,000 SF Vehicle Maintenance Area for vehicle maintenance that incorporates 7 service bays with 2 each 60,000 lb and 3 each 12,000 lb vehicle hoists, space includes lube and vehicle exhaust systems, overhead cranes.
